As aesthetic clients become increasingly knowledgeable, the demand for more sophisticated and complex treatments becomes more prevalent. Long gone are the days where botox was just a method of reducing the appearance of wrinkles, there are now more technically difficult and skilled premium procedures that can be done to improve facial aesthetics. Our advanced botox course will teach you the latest techniques for the following 7 treatments:

Nefertiti Lift & Platysmal Band

This treatment was named after the Egyptian queen Nefertiti, who was known for her elongated & thin neck. The procedure targets the platysmal band of muscles that run from the bottom of your face to your collar bone, which improves the definition of the mandibular border. Thus reducing folds or sagging of the lower part of the face & neck, and also smooths the skin around the chin. Results from this treatment become evident in 7-14 days and they typically last 3-6 months.

Gummy Smile

A gummy smile is triggered by an overactive muscle in the top lip. It can make many people feel very self-conscious, but there is now a more sophisticated botox treatment for patients with an excessive gingiva when smiling. The botox is injected beside the nose where the lip levator muscles are meaning a reduction in the amount of gums on show when smiling. This treatment takes 5-10 minutes to perform and results being evident at day 10 post-treatment and lasting 3-4 months.

Excessive Sweating

Sweating is a natural thing that happens to all of us. From sweating armpits, clammy hands, or head sweats, it is a natural way for the body to cool us down. However, it can be embarrassing and for some, it can be excessive and affect their everyday life. Botox can be a temporary solution for excessive sweating, as it blocks the nerve signal responsible for sweating, preventing the sweat glands from creating too much sweat. Results from this treatment last approximately 6 months.

Bunny Lines

Bunny lines are the lines that appear when you scrunch your nose. They can be prominent on some when they smile or make certain facial expressions. They are straight or diagonal lines on either side of the nose beneath the bridge. As people age, they can start to hang around even when the face is relaxed. Botox can be injected into either side of the nose to directly target these lines and relax the muscle. As with other Botox treatments results typically last 3-6 months.

Smokers Lines

Smokers lines are vertical lines around the lips and run up towards the nose. They are caused by repetitive facial expressions, smoking, or just the natural process of aging, and can become deeper over time. Our advanced botox course teaches this procedure due to the accuracy needed for injecting around the lip to allow the muscle tension to relax.
Patient selection is key in this treatment, and they can expect nice softening to the upper lip lines.

Downturned mouths

As we become older and our skin starts to age, it can fall downwards from the corner of our mouth and resemble an upset expression when relaxed. By relaxing the Depressor Anguli Oris muscle with Botox, it will spring back into its natural position and can be enhanced further with dermal fillers to increase volume in this area. This can be a nice combination of treatments and you can learn more about this area in our foundation botox and dermal filler course.

Dimpled/Pebbled Chins

A lot of signs of aging can start around the lip area, as this is where the face is continuously working. We start to lose collagen or elasticity and parts of our face, including the chin, can start to become loose. A pebbled chin is where a chin has large lines or indents creating a ‘pebbled stone’ appearance. Botox can be used to help create a more defined profile and relax the muscles that are causing the dimpled appearance. This can help with a smooth chin.
